The Tiger Quoll (Dasyurus maculatus), also known as the spotted-tail quoll, spotted quoll, spotted-tail dasyure, native cat, or tiger cat, is a carnivorous marsupial of the quoll genus Dasyurus native to Australia. With males and females weighing around 3.5 and 1.8 kg, respectively, it is the largest marsupial carnivore native to Mainland Australia (the Tasmanian devil and the extinct Thylacine are bigger) and the world's 2nd largest extant carnivorous marsupial behind the Tasmanian devil. 2 subspecies are recognized; the nominate is found in wet forests of southeastern Australia and Tasmania, and a northern subspecies (D. m. gracilis) is found in a small area of northern Queensland and is endangered.

Quolls are sometimes called "native cats" because no wild felid species are native to Australia besides domestic cats. They are also very agile and cat-like. These marsupials are nocturnal and will raid possum holes in trees and climb into birds nests to eat the birds and eggs. With highly developed whiskers, they are one of Australia's apex predators along with dingos and crocodiles.
