The Spectacled Cobra (Naja naja), also known as the Indian cobra, Asian cobra, or binocellate cobra, is a venomous snake native to the Indian subcontinent. It can be recognized by its large, impressive hood, which the cobra expands when threatened in order to appear larger. The spectacled cobra is considered one of Asia's most dangerous snakes, and is in the big four including itself, common krait, Russell's viper, and saw-scaled viper. They have extremely potent neurotoxic venom.
