The Pygmy Rabbit (Brachylagus idahoensis) is a species of rabbit native to the plains of Montana, Idaho, California, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. The pygmy rabbit is the smallest rabbit in the world and barely weighs 1 lb, being able to fit in the palm of a human hand. They feed almost exclusively on sagebrush in the winter, and will eat grass and seeds in the summer. They have very small burrows and are in fact the only rabbits in the United States to dig their own burrows.
