The Green Heron (Butorides virescens) is a small species of heron native to North, Central, and South America. They are much smaller than most herons. They have a very intelligent hunting strategy. They often hunt where humans are seen throwing bread to ducks and fish. The green heron will use the bread as bait. When the fish comes up to eat the bread, they strike with a very sharp beak and laser precision.
