Wild Kratts Wiki

"Gonna Go Wild Kratts" is the theme song of the PBS animated television series Wild Kratts. It only happens after Chris and Martin in live-action form jump towards the screen and shout "What if?" to become cartoon characters. As soon as they do, Martin runs away and Chris charges towards the screen to make the cold open end and the theme song start. The theme song's music was composed by Pure West. The theme song's intro was done by the Canadian animation studio.

Intro[]

The intro begins with the Wild Kratts paw icon, zooming into a world map and shows the Kratt brothers interacting with animals from across the world. Aviva types on the large computer in the Tortuga as Jimmy Z with a slice of pizza in his left clutch and Koki, on Jimmy's left nodding and blinking first before Jimmy with his frozen head watch from behind, but only in one shot. Two Creature Power Discs are teleported to the Kratt brothers and the siblings activate their Creature Power Suits. Edited clips from episodes are shown afterwards. The brothers strike a pose and the series' title from the beginning of cold opens appears at the end.

Trivia[]

  • Although many episodes in the series recycle animation from the intro, it has noticeable differences.
    • In the intro, Martin's suit is shown activating from the back before getting a close-up on his eyepiece and then a full shot of him. In "Cheetah Racer", the only scene that is similar to the intro is where Martin's eyepiece appears.
      • Interestingly enough, in "Falcon City", the activation sequence of Martin's Falcon Power is very similar to the intro, albeit animated in a different way. In addition, in "Cheetah Racer", it takes a few seconds for Martin to blink before the eyepiece is unleashed, whilst in the intro, Martin's eyepiece comes quickly.
    • In "Flight of the Draco", when Chris's suit activates, his eyepiece activates and before fully activating it isn't visible. In addition, there is a far shot of Chris lifting his arms to reveal his Draco Wing flaps. This scene is partially exclusive from the intro, where during the activation of Chris's eyepiece, his eyes can be visible, and it then shows a close-up of his Draco Power Suit before zooming out to see his wings.
    • The scene from "Octopus Wildkratticus" in the theme song took place on the surface of the Arctic, while in the actual episode, it took place in the Octopod.
    • The scene from "Aardvark Town" in the theme song had Chris with a shocked look on his face before smiling nervously at the rock python that squeezed him. In the actual episode, he was constricted with a comedic look on his face before smiling at the python nervously.
    • The scene from "Honey Seekers" in the theme song showed Martin running from a swarm of bees and looking behind him, before crashing into the lion, whereas in the actual episode he is looking directly at the lion.
    • The scene from "Flight of the Draco" in the theme song showed Chris in Draco Powers crashing into a tree, causing leaves to fall, whilst in the actual episode, no leaves fell.
      • In addition, there is a scene in the intro where Chris in Draco Power glides in an upward style. This animation is recycled for "Flight of the Draco", only Chris is flying downwards.
  • When the Kratts do a pose right before the logo appears, it is in the same manner as their poses in "The Gecko Effect". This pose has become a recurring gag within the show.
  • The background and the logo for the show have different looks in some specials (excluding “Back in Creature Time” and “Creatures of the Deep Sea.”)
    • "A Creature Christmas": The Kratt brothers land in the middle of a winter habitat. The swirl is green and covered in ornaments like a wreath.
    • "Wild Kratts Alaska: Hero's Journey": The Kratt brothers land on the shore of an Alaskan river. A pair of sockeye salmon jump from behind the logo.
    • "Wild Kratts Halloween: Creepy Creatures!": The Kratt brothers land in a South American rainforest during the night, the swirl in the logo is orange and the background is green. A little brown bat lands on the logo, a spider hangs from a web.
    • "Amazin' Amazon Adventure": The Kratt brothers land on the shore of the Amazon River, the swirl in the logo stays the same but the background is green. A saddleback tamarin lands on the logo, a golden-tailed sapphire flies by it, three species of macaw fly from behind the logo.
    • "Cats and Dogs": The Kratt brothers land in the African savannah, swirl in the logo stays the same but an African wild dog chases a wild cat across the screen.
    • Our Blue and Green World”: The Kratt brothers land on a beach in Madagascar. The swirl in the logo is replaced with the globe. A blue whale swims across waves as an indri leaps across the screen from tree to tree.
    • Activate Kid Power”: The Kratt brothers land in the Rocky Mountains. The swirl in the logo is replaced with an orbiting globe. The title card features Wild Kratts kids from left to right; Leo, Katie, Nina, Manuel, Juma, Audrey, an unnamed girl, Karl, Eden, and Nua.
  • On January 3, 2022, an official soundtrack version of the theme song was released on Twitter and TikTok as part of the show's 11-year anniversary.
  • On October 25th, 2025, the Wild Kratts social media accounts uploaded a re-animated parody of the theme song. In this parody, the cactus from the live-action opening segment of "Spots in the Desert" transitioned into the animation with a red Creature Power Suit, and was edited into several scenes of the intro, with the title card being "Wild Cactus."
