Gavin is a young boy from North America, and is part of the international group of children known as the Wild Kratts Kids, and is one of the most frequently seen throughout the show. He was introduced in the episode "Bass Class". He is usually seen with his younger brother, Ronan.

Appearance[]

Gavin is a young boy of average height, with short blond hair and blue eyes. In most episodes he appears in, Gavin is wearing a light gray shirt with a dark gray hoodie, blue jeans, and red and white sneakers.

In the episodes "Praying Mantis" and "Activate Kid Power", Gavin wears a grey short-sleeved shirt with short white sleeves. He also wears red shorts and is barefooted.

In the episodes "Under Frozen Pond", "Snowy Owl Invasion" and "A Creature Christmas", he wears a blue toque, a green winter coat and grey sweatpants. He also wears blue gloves and light brown boots.

Personality[]

Gavin is a mainly cheerful boy with an interest in various creatures, especially fish, as seen in his debut episode "Bass Class", when he was revealed to have won third place in a fishing contest. He can also see through others’ lies, as seen in the same episode when he was able to tell that one of Zach’s bass was fake. In addition to fishing, Gavin has a knack for sports, namely snowboarding, as seen in "A Creature Christmas", and hockey, as seen in "Under Frozen Pond".

In “Snowy Owl Invasion”, it’s revealed that (along with his brother and Katie) he picked up Martin’s habit of naming animals, and participated in his “Frosty the Snowy Owl” song.

Trivia[]

He is inspired after and voiced by Gavin Kratt, the son of Martin Kratt.
In his Season 4 episode appearances, his voice is deep, likely due to his actor going through puberty.
The episode "Praying Mantis" was the last time Gavin's child voice is heard before puberty starts deepening his voice.
Even though in real life Gavin is related to the Kratt brothers, his character in the TV show is not related to the Kratt brothers (likely due to the animation being non/semi-canon to the live-action segments).
His name can mean "May hawk" or "field hawk" in Welsh. This means he has an animal-themed name like his brother.
