The Chinese Pangolin (Manis pentadactyla) is a species of pangolin native to most of Southern and Southeast Asia from China to Mynamar. They are an arboreal species and use strong claws and a prehensile tail to feed from ant or termite nests in the trees. They can roll into a tight ball, with their scales serving as a highly protective defense against predators. They are Critically Endangered due to habitat loss and poaching. Poachers will sell them to people who want their scales. These scales are said by some to be curing. Thats why they've been used in many traditional Chinese medicines, even though they haven't been scientifically proven to help your body and be put in medicines.
