"Chimpanzee and Me" is the 12th episode of Season 7 of the PBS Kids show Wild Kratts. It is the 170th episode of the series overall. It premiered on November 6, 2024.

Synopsis[]

The gang travels deep into Uganda's tropical forests to uncover the true nature of the chimpanzee, but Chris sprains his ankle at the most inopportune time and can't participate. He is sad and upset. It's the climbing adventure that he's always looked forward to. He tries to hide his disappointment and gets support from his friends, but it's a young chimp who shows him how to truly make the best of a bad situation.

  • This is the Wild Kratts' second great ape adventure. The first being "A Huge Orange Problem".
  • This is also their first adventure in the African tropical rainforests.
  • The live-action segment at the beginning of this episode recycles footage of the Be the Creature episode Chimpanzee Expedition.
  • This is the first episode to depict a character with a disability, as Leah, the Wild Kratts Kid introduced in this episode, is shown to be deaf, using American Sign Language as a form of communication.
  • This marks the very first episode where one of the main human characters (Chris) suffers a physical injury (his sprained ankle).
