Wild Kratts Wiki

Mongooses, also called mongeese, are any of the 34 species in the family Herpestidae, which comprises 14 genera. They are small carnivorans native to southern Eurasia and mainland Africa; there is a large introduced population in Hawaii. Mongoose diets are varied but consist of mainly insects, hatchlings, reptiles and birds. They are one of a few mammal groups with resistance to snake venom.

Herpestidae is placed within the suborder Feliformia, together with the Felidae, Viverridae, Hyaenidae, and Eupleridae families.

This category is for animals that are mongooses.
