Bumper is a Sperm Whale calf. He made his first appearance in the season 1 episode "Whale of a Squid." He gets his name from bumping the Amphi-Sub.
Background[]
Shortly after Bumper is welcomed into the Wild Kratts crew, he starts diving deeper and gets caught in the middle of a battle between his mother and a giant squid. After his mom gets tangled up in a ghost net and the giant squid escapes, Bumper is left alone shortly before Martin and Chris return. Chris keeps in contact with him using his Sperm Whale Power Suit's echolocation while he dives deeper to rescue Bumper's mom. Bumper is then suddenly attacked by a colossal squid. Chris and Martin return to save Bumper but are then attacked themselves. When he tries to help Martin and Chris escape from the colossal squid, the squid is suddenly stunned. Martin and Chris realize that it was not Bumper that stunned the squid, but a full grown bull sperm whale, who is Bumper's father. The bull sperm whale then battles and eats the colossal squid and Bumper is reunited with his rescued mom. The three sperm whales swim off into the sunset. Bumper meets up with the Wild Kratts crew on separate occasions.
