Artichoke is a baby Chinese pangolin. Martin named him that because he looks like an artichoke when he rolls up into a ball. He and his mother get caught in a pangolin trap set by Gourmand. When Chris and Martin set off to find out who set the trap, Artichoke's mom gets caught and taken in another trap. When Chris and Martin come back, they find her gone. When Chris activates Pangolin Powers, all of the scales fall off. And so Aviva sends him a Pangolin Disc with stronger scales. Chris hatches a plan and gets caught in a trap. Martin takes Artichoke to keep him safe. And Artichoke's mother is rescued by Martin and she swims away from Gourmand's boat.
