So someone on the wiki linked me to an interview of the Kratt Brothers and at 7:24, the Kratts say they're going to make an episode on Binturongs, as they show a Binturong on the screen.
Now, they said it would be in the 6th season, but as we know, Season 6 is long over. So maybe there was supposed to be a Binturong episode in S6 but it got cut down? (I heard there were meant to be 20-something episodes in this season but we only got 18, likely because of the pandemic{?}). It seems like with the two hiatuses we've had, only broken by ONE episode, maybe there were a lot of unreleased episodes planned for this season that were shelved and scheduled for next season. This could very well explain why we've had only one episode in between a year and a half long break.
Additionally, we have confirmation of an episode centering around Ravens and Crows. This was confirmed before Season 6 ended, meaning S7 has been in production for quite a long time (s7 was confirmed a week before Cats and Dogs came out).
And in that case, Season 7 could quite possibly be a complication of unreleased S6 episodes and it may not take that much time to make. And even not, all signs point to Season 7 being in the works for close to a year, and knowing the break-time in between a season finale and season premiere, it wouldn't surprise me if S7 is almost finished or actually finished:
Finally, there's a post by Pure West, the music composer(s) for the show's soundtrack and they announced Season 7: In their words,
"Looking forward to the start of Wild Kratts Season 7 in ’22!"
Why would they confirm S7 to premiere this year if they hadn't figured out the release date or were finished with it? If you've scrolled through their Tik-Tok account's comments sections, you'll see replies like "We haven't found a release date."
And now they're saying it's coming out this year.
Next, we have the Wild Kratts magazines that were released in around 2017-2020 that showed animals, habitats, and Creature Powers that are either yet to appear on the show or given their own respective episodes centered around them, such as the Perentie and Flying Squirrel pages and discs shown for them. There's a post that shows most of these spoilers.
Now, when Wild Cats and Wild Dogs came out, those books showed the cat and dog species that appeared in Cats and Dogs, and in the book readings of those episodes, Chris and Martin mentioned production on the episode. So the magazines are definitely spoilers/foreshadowing for future episodes and we very much can rely on them.
Next up, there are the live shows. Due to the pandemic, the brothers haven't been able to return to their live shows. HOWEVER, whenever they do go live on performance, there's a segment right before the 20 min. hiatus where they confirm production on new episodes. When Wild Kratts Live! first came out, there was a bit where the brothers gave spoilers of the new episodes, animals, new Creature Powers that would be present in Season 4.
So assuming that they manage to revive their live performances, I can make a guess that they will make some announcement about Season 7.
Then we have the "Double Feature" that was announced on the Utah schedule for the 24-hour PBS Kids channel, set to air on July 15th, only 3 days after the anniversary of when Season 6 ended, taking this hiatus to a year and 3 days. Most Wild Kratts specials and new episodes are confirmed months before their release. Why they titled it "Double Feature," I have no clue, but if it was a re-run of an older episode, it would've mentioned this. There's no chance of this being a re-run, is what I'm saying, so it definitely HAS to be something related to the 7th season.
All signs point to Season 7 of Wild Kratts being complete and now we're simply waiting for it to air. More and more new info keeps popping up that's getting harder and harder to miss by the second as we reach further into the hiatus and my optimism speaks outward.
This is only speculation/my take because there's always the slim chance that we could be wrong, but if it is anything more, or if we get closer to the release date of the Double Feature ith nothing to refute my claims, then it means that the season-long break is finally over and we'll be back to seeing weekdays of our favorite blue and green after a year and a half of waiting in the wings and praying.
Any thoughts?
