Chris & Martin once again Show Koki & Paisley Natures Recyclers. Then suddenly a New Villain has kidnapped Jimmy Z & Rounded Up Every Scavenger on The Planet.

What Creatures should be Featured in This Episode?

Wild Kratts has always been famous for its villains. While the brothers' other shows have had animals that seem scary, or predators that threaten to eat the focus animal, we have never had truly evil people until the show came out in 2011.

Gourmand is willing to cook endangered species, Donita likes to make clothes and accessories with live animals, and Zach will use species as components in his inventions and schemes.

The villains, in contrast to the protagonists, are not just proud and greedy, but immature and petty.

In Gourmand's debut episode, it was established he doesn't believe he was at fault for cooking endangered animals despite it being illegal, with not even having his chef's license revoked causing him to reflect on his actions and consider the possibility he did something wrong.

Donita was willing to chase Monarch Butterflies across the country, and she threw a fit about them dying because she specifically wanted living butterflies to turn in jewelry.

Zach of course, has always been the most outwardly childish, with him throwing a tantrum over not being allowed to clean his building, to even threatening to throw an actual child's trophy into the lake, with him then challenging said child to a fishing contest, and then cheating, just so he could win.

In short, my point is that the villains have always been immature and childish, but while they had their childish moments, what made them dangerous is the lengths they would go to for their petty grievances.

The villains have no qualms about hurting others to get what they want. Gourmand has left the brothers to stung by a swarm of bees, Donita is willing to take feathers and silk from birds and spiders, and Zach has tried to drown the brothers, as well as half a herd of walruses, just for a pearl.

While I understand the show was originally for a slightly older audience than PBS' usual demographic, and that as the show became popular, they would want to water things down. 6-year old me got intimidated by some of the things the villains did back in 2011, so I can understand why the brothers and/or the network would want the villains to be a little less intense.

Still, it feels like the villains are barely threatening anymore.

Gourmand has only appeared twice in Season 7 and neither appearance was he that much of a threat. Donita's only prominent role was in the Camel episode, and while she did leave the brothers and Aviva stranded, she didn't feel too intimidating.

Zach and Paisley both had more intimidating moments and felt like threats, but Paisley got redeemed, and Zach...

Zach's schemes in this season have felt very hit-or-miss.

Forcing a chimpanzee to be his personal servant felt like a solid plan for Zach, but turning a bunch of bumblebees into a drone, which feels like a more convoluted idea from the writers rather than Zach himself. And Zach seemed more pissy than usual about shapes during the latest episode on Armadillos.

Worse, I feel like the villains' presence actually took away time from focusing on the animals.

What are all of your thoughts?

No episode is perfect. And some episodes are more "not perfect" than others. So which ones would you rewrite? I'll go first with some of my own options in no particular order.

1. Mystery of the North Pole Penguins; The episode's entire conflict feels contradictory. Yes, they point out how penguins are extremely vulnerable in the Arctic, but them using Penguin Powers to save the day really undercuts that. That'd be like if the brothers activated Koala Powers to save Koala Balloon in the desert, or if the brothers used Otter Powers to swim him home. If they wanted to hammer home the idea that penguins are vulnerable, have the brothers acknowledge and utilize the fact that they can't use Penguin Powers to save the day. Maybe they use Polar Bear Power or Arctic Wolf Power to fight off the predators, or Snowy Owl Power to fly them home. Also, cut out the filler at the beginning, because the mystery only occurs in the episode's third act.

2.A Fish Out of Water: I like Jimmy getting his own solo episode in theory, but it fails in execution. There's no pathos or set-up to Jimmy feeling inadequate, there are numerous plot-holes and plot-contrivances to generate artificial conflict over Jimmy being missing (seriously, both Aviva and Koki have teleported stuff before, why is conflict?!), and the ending just feels unearned. Maybe have a few scenes or dialogue just to fill some gaps, give more of a reason for why Jimmy does the things he does, and have a more emotionally profound ending.

3. The Colors of China: Have Donita and Paisley team up. This one's stolen from Athena P's analysis, but it does strike a bit out of character for Donita to have an emo-phase, even if it is legitimately hilarious. Maybe Donita's phase is influenced by Paisley, who tries to collaberate with her on building an establishment for fashion that requires less color. For this one, you'd have to also rewrite Season 5 since that formally introduces Paisely into the group, but I need my Daisy fix anyways.

4. Cats and Dogs: Swap Zach with Donita. A huge problem in S6 (that I'm glad they're letting go of in S7) is how oversaturated Zach is. He did not need to be in this episode, and none of his appearanes in said episode track to his character at all. You could've had Donita steal cats and dogs for some fashion line and it would work. Especially since she's meant to be an expy of Cruella DeVil from 101 Dalmnations. Also, I'd definitely have a portion of the episode focus on hyenas, since their taxomony, and whether or not they're a type of cat or dog has been a subject of controversy among biologists for years.

5. Our Blue and Green World: I'm way more forgiving towards this episode than others, but within the year that's passed since the episode's out, I've noticed way more flaws. I think there could've been way more drama based on the brothers fighting, I feel like the motivation for the fighting could've been stronger (like Zach turning them against one another). The crew wanting to get the brothers back together would've been much more powerful if Paisley and Zach revealed themselves before the cliffhanger at the end of Part 1. Also, the Paisley redemption is admittedly rushed, but that's primarily a fault of how underutilized she was and not anything exclusive to the episode. The one thing I would change is have all of the villains be active here, including Rex, and I'd have Paisley face off against them (plus establish Rex either as a redeemed character or as a solo villain). It would've killed so many birds with one stone rather than leaving things up in the air to not be explored until S8.

6. Wild Ponies: Literally the one thing I'd do different is change the design of the Pony Power Suit. The worst Creature Power Suit of the entire series.

What about y'all? Any episode rewrite suggestions?

Hyrax: The Elephant's Cousin. While in Africa with Thornsley's herd to help plant trees, Chris and Martin notice a rock hyrax nearby. Paisley, Rex, Aviva, Koki and Jimmy aren't sure why and how a hyrax is related to an elephant, so Chris and Martin decide to teach them. However, when Zach overhears and learns that hyraxes would make great robots decides to capture some. Zach would use them to help himself and others get inside tighter places around his building, mansion and ship. He also plans to capture Paisley and Rex for "ditching him, Donita and Gourmand and make them rejoin his side.

The Wild Kratts must save their new hyrax friends, Paisley and Rex. It's also revealed that after Our Blue and Green World, Paisley told Rex about what the Wild Kratts said to her about what will happen to the world if she keeps destroying it. Rex was actually happy with Paisley's decision.

If There’s gonna another Race in Prairies again, Since African Hunting Dog Disc along with Dhole, Whitetail Deer, Elk, Bighorn Sheep, Pronghorn, & Bison Disc is Complete, Will Aviva invent Springbok, Impala, Chital Deer, Cape Buffalo, Black Mamba, Wildebeest, & Wombat Discs? Also would Paisley wanna run a Marathon Race too by borrowing Cheetah Racer?

Chris, Martin, Aviva, Koki race on Prairie again! Paisley wants in too. Last time Martin used Gray Wolf Disc, this time He’s gonna use African Wild Dog suit to run Food to Exhaustion. Aviva has been inventing New Creature Power Discs Springbok, Impala, Chital Deer, Wildebeest, & Spotted Hyena! Aviva may have to use Zebra Disc. Koki may use Bengal Tiger. Finally Chris will use Pronghorn like last time. Paisley will use Cheetah Racer vehicle.

The reason it took us a year to see Paisley again after her redemption is because she was in court filing paperwork to legally change her surname lol.

Back again

A New Paving Villain Who is CEO of another Paving & Demolition Company is gonna explode South African Water Dam. Then build new Super Shopping Mall which will end Nile Croc Nest Sites. Gourmand is also Digging up Nile Croc Nests on there too. Reason is to Cook up Brunch. Meanwhile, Chris, Martin, & Koki spotted Baby Nile Crocs natural Predators African Fish Eagle, Marabou Stork, & Nile Monitor! Unfortunately, Gourmand also captures these predators as Well. Before they were Captured, Chris & Martin brought Marabou Stork & African Fish Eagle Feathers & Koki brought a Nile Monitor Shed Skin to have Aviva make 3 new Power Discs. Aviva & Paisley received a report One the African Dams is about to Explode.
